Our Story
Our story started when my sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in January 2022.
Earlier this year I felt God pulling me in a direction that I just wasn’t sure about. But after months of prayer and confirmation I’m excited to share that my family, along with my sister Christina Williams, have launched a 501(3)c non-profit Walk Home Together Foundation!
The heart behind this non profit is to help raise money and community support for women and their families suffering from breast cancer. One of the biggest cancer myths is that insurance covers all medical expenses. It does NOT!! But it’s more than just medical bills impacting families. It’s groceries, gas, keeping the lawn mowed and house cleaned…and the list goes on as women face chemo, radiation and a variety of surgeries in a short time span. A lot of struggles happen behind the scenes.
When Christina was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last year it opened our eyes to the hardships families face. Her story is powerful and I can’t wait for you to hear it! It is one of perservence as she overcame one hurdle after another through this journey. Her outlook on life and truly living each day to the fullest possible marked even her darkest days. And even though I'm the big sister her faith and determination have helped me in my own personal growth. But even through the hard days we’ve been so encouraged by the love & outreach from our community! And that is why we feel such a strong desire to help others going through this horrible process. Over the last few weeks we have been greatly touched by those who’ve reached out wanting to help! But what has been more impactful are the stories coming our way of so many women impacted by breast cancer. We have established a board of individuals who are survivors and strong supporters of women battling breast cancer. Each member has had cancer or supports a family member with cancer. We are so blessed that these women are here to help us as we review grantee request forms. We ask kindly for your prayers over this team.
Together we can love our neighbors and have a tremendous impact in the lives of others. I hope you are as excited as we are!!
